Mike Garner's professional relationship with percussionist Warren Houston stretches back over 20 years. Warren was drummer for Mike's successful turn of the century band, Stepping Out, which included tours to Australia and support for Kenny Wayne Shepherd at Auckland's "Power Station".
When Mike returned to acoustic guitar blues, in the early 2000s, Warren moved across to percussion and their duo sets now embrace a range of instruments, from cajon and djembe, through a range of Middle Eastern and African drums, to washboard! They have been to the Kathmandu Blues Festival in Nepal, to "Live en Aout" in New Caledonia, as well as further tours in Australia.
Together they produce powerful, rhythmic music and subtly gentle songs. Always an exciting show.
Warren has appeared on almost all of Mike's CDs, including the latest one, "Don't Mind The Rain".
